Born in Portland, OR to Evangelical missionaries, Fr. Seraphim Robertson spent his early years overseas—in the UK and Ecuador. He was received into the Orthodox Church in 2010 and shortly thereafter pursued an undergraduate degree in New Testament Greek at Multnomah University. This pursuit was cut short, however, by a desire to test a vocation to the monastic life. After brief stints in several monastic communities representing a variety of traditions, he clearly discerned a call to family life. He and his wife, Matushka Lena, were married in September of 2015.
After several years of working in commercial landscaping, Fr. Seraphim returned to Multnomah University to complete a degree in English. In the Fall of 2021, he enrolled at St. Tikhon’s Orthodox Theological Seminary, where he was eventually ordained to the holy priesthood. He graduated from the Master of Divinity program in the Spring of 2024. At Pentecost of the same year, Fr. Seraphim, Mka. Lena, and their now 4 children were privileged to move to Denver in order to serve the faithful people of Holy Transfiguration Cathedral.
